Red Rose Bridal Bouquet

Red roses are associated with love and romance more than any other coloured rose.  This is probably why almost every bride will consider a red rose bridal bouquet.

Choosing The Style Of Your Red Rose Bridal Bouquet.

If you are choosing a red rose bridal bouquet, then you will probably be keeping the bouquet style simple, with either a hand tied wedding bouquet or a more structured bouquet, usually a sphere.  For hand tied wedding bouquets, the ribbons are usually longer and the whole image is slightly softer, against the more formal, structured bouquet.  The bride will usually choose a bouquet style which will fit the overall image of the wedding.

How Many Shades In The Red Rose Bridal Bouquet

We all have an image of the classic red rose; however, there are actually many different shades of red, from a bright, brick red to the more luscious deep reds which we see at St Valentine's Day.  If you are going to use real roses then you choice is slightly more limited.  If however you are having you red rose bridal bouquet made from silk flowers, then you can be very specific about the exact  colour you want and you can even have this matched to the clothes or accessories of the bridesmaids.  Of course, whether you go for real or silk your red rose bridal bouquet can always be a selection of roses or different shades of red.

Coordinating Your Bridesmaids Bouquets With Your Red Rose Bridal Bouquet

Once you have the colour scheme for the brides outfit and accessories, you then have to choose the colours for your bridesmaids and flower girls.  Most brides have a colour which will be the same in both the bridal outfit and the bridesmaids; for example the ribbon on a hand tied red rose bridal bouquet may be the same as the dresses for the bridesmaid.  The flowers are not usually the same colour for all the bouquets.  So if you have chosen the red rose bridal bouquet your flower girls and bridesmaids will probably have a different colour.  If you are choosing a soft pink rose for the other bouquets it means that all the soft spring colours are still suitable for the girls' dresses.  If however you have older bridesmaids and therefore want there dress to be darker shades it may a good choice to have their bouquets in a white or off white colour, coordinating with your own dress.

Finally, if the red rose bridal bouquet is to stand out you do not really want to have too many other flowers at the reception in exactly the same colour.  The reception flowers should be more subtle, possibly interspersed with the colours from your bouquet to continue the theme.

If you plan to coordinate the wedding to your red rose bridal bouquet, remember that the most important flowers are the brides and so you can theme everything around them – after all the bride is the centre of attention.
